Upgrading the Inner Tracking System and the Time Projection Chamber of ALICE

The ALICE experiment at CERN is undergoing a major upgrade during the Long Shutdown 2 (LS2) of LHC 2019-2020. key elements regarding central barrel are installation new Inner Tracking System (ITS) and large Time Projection Chamber (TPC). TPC currently being upgraded with readout system, including GEM-based Readout Chambers front-end electronics enabling us to operate it in continuous mode. ITS based on CMOS Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors will significantly improve impact parameter resolution tracking efficiency, especially for particles low transverse momenta, as well readout-rate capability. In following, upgrades their assembly commissioning status be outlined. Furthermore, an outlook given plans foreseen third long shutdown 2025-2026. For this upgrade, three innermost layers could replaced by cylindrical detector layers, made curved wafer-scale-sized sensors, lower even further material budget pointing resolution.
